FAQs

Q: What is a Coaching Session like, and what can I expect in my first Coaching Session?

A: Rest assured your Thrivenity Coach approaches each Client with compassion, empathy and a listening ear. He is there to help you to succeed! A big part of the Life Coaching work entails asking you questions to find out where you are now, where you want to go, and what you want to become. This is especially so in the first Session, where the Coach gets to know the Client to discover their expectations, motivation and goals. Throughout each Life Coaching Program, the Coach educates the Client in applying Positive Psychology principles and interventions. All Thrivenity Life Coaching Programs are designed with the Client’s needs and interests in mind. For instance, the Resilience TLC Program was created to help Clients through bouncing back from adversities and supporting them through the Post Traumatic Growth process. For Clients seeking to reach their Full Potential, the Unleashing Your Super Powers Program helps Clients to uncover their natural abilities and coaches them in their use during their quest for Peak-Performance. Clients typically receive Interim Emails and Exercises to work on between Sessions.

Q: What is Positive Psychology?

A: Positive Psychology is the science of what is RIGHT with people. Since WWII, the field of Psychology has focused on what’s wrong with people–and has been very successful in treating mental illness over the years. Positive Psychology, on the other hand, focuses on helping people to reach their full potential–as it is the science of Self-Improvement. While Psychology’s objective is to help a person to heal and thereby pull out of a state of languishing, Positive Psychology’s aim is to help a Client reach a state of flourishing. Psychology looks back to understanding the root cause of mental illness, while Positive Psychology looks forward to the possibilities of becoming one’s best!

Q: How can a Life Coach help in so many areas, such as burnout, divorce, job stress, loss, as well as Peak Performance and Human Potential?

A: Your Thrivenity Coach is a Positive Psychology Consultant AND a Life Coach who specializes in Resilience and Human Potential. The tools and interventions used in his practice can be applied in many ways, from helping a person to bounce back from life’s setbacks to helping another scale the company ladder! The Thrivenity Coach applies these tools in the proper manner and timing to yield the greatest benefits for the Client. When dealing with the human condition—whether it be to build Resilience in one Client who’s facing adversities, or to help another Client striving to reach their Full Potential, the scientific interventions are often the same. However, the difference is in the application of the tools and interventions according to the Client’s needs. This is where a gifted and skilled Life Coach can be of great value to the Client. As the Coach comes to understand the Client’s needs during the Sessions, he intuits how best to apply the resources at his disposal for the Client’s greatest advantage. When the Thrivenity Coach hits his mark, the Client is enlightened, empowered and fueled from the inside out as she/he journeys toward a fulfilling and meaningful life.

Q: What are Positive Emotions, and why are they so important?

Simply put, Positive Emotions like joy, excitement, happiness, cheerfulness and optimism make you feel good! They contribute to a person’s well-being and their personal development. Positive Emotions are the lifeblood of Positive Psychology and are an important focus in many of the Thrivenity Life Coaching Programs. They break the stress response in the body and positively impact a person’s Intellectual, Psychological, Social and Physical capacities. Some benefits of a Positive Emotional state are: broadened thoughts, greater creativity, novel ideas and increased Resilience to depression.

Q: What are Positive Psychology Interventions?

Positive Psychology Interventions are tools used to help you discover important things about yourself, such as your desires and needs, natural abilities, and to clarify your vision and direction for your life. They come in the form of questionnaires, diagrams, writing, etc., that will help you gain a clearer picture of, for instance, what you Value in life–that is, what’s truly important to you. Often, after completing the Intervention, Clients may feel energized with an inner excitement for the insights gained through the Intervention. This will provide Positive Emotions that will motivate you toward your goal.

Q: How do I get in touch with my Coach between Sessions?

A: You can reach your Coach through email for simple questions or concerns. For a more complex matter, you can it bring up during your next Coaching Session.

Q: How do I pay for Coaching?

A: Thrivenity accepts payment through a Credit Card processor called Stripe. Prior to starting the Coaching Session, the Coach will send the Payment Link to the Client via email. When the Client clicks on the link, it will take them to the Credit Card processor where they can fill in the simple payment form and make their payment. The Coach will immediately receive notification once the payment goes through.

Q: What if I lose my motivation and focus between Sessions?

A: Between Sessions, you will receive an Interim Email and Exercises to work on that will be enlightening, encouraging and empowering. These Exercises will help you to prepare for the next Session. While much takes place during a productive Life Coaching Session, it’s the effort the Client puts in between Sessions that will help them to gain the greatest benefit from their Program. Remember: All it takes is one small pivot (change in direction) to make all the difference in the person’s life!

Q: What if I suffer from depression or other mental illness?

A: Thrivenity is a Life Coaching service. It does NOT provide Psychotherapy or Mental Health Counseling. If you think you may be Clinically Depressed or are struggling with any other type of mental illness and need help, call your medical doctor or mental health professional right away to get help.  IN CASE OF EMERGENCY, CLICK HERE FOR HELP.
